About Us Flood Inhibiting & Defense Organization LLC (FIDO) was formed by entrepreneur and self-made businessman David Fudala in Encinitas, California. Fudala’s business partner Steve Lafata hails from Virginia Beach, Virginia where he oversees the warehouse and shipping operations. FIDO, LLC is the exclusive importer of FloodSax® for the Western Hemisphere. FIDO, LLC and EDS LTD are US and UK business partners respectively, and under licensing agreements between the two companies, FIDO will soon be manufacturing FloodSax® on their side of the pond. The pioneering FloodSax®, an innovative self-energized flood defense system, are the brainchild of Richard Bailey, Managing Director of Environmental Defense Systems Limited (EDS), based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. Richard has over 20 years experience as a manufacturer and supplier of pioneering emergency equipment and has earned a global reputation with the Emergency Services and the British MOD. One of his previous inventions, the inflatable Aireshower Decontamination Unit, now used on the 999 frontline, won the prestigious Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in 2000. HRH The Duke Of Kent personally presented Richard with the award. Furthermore, EDS Ltd won the National Gold Winner 2007 for Products in the Green Apple Environment Awards. The Green Apple Awards aim to recognize, reward, and promote the best examples of environmental best practice and sustainable development as demonstrated by Local Authorities, Commercial & Industry and Communities – both in the UK and around the world. EDS Ltd is due to receive the National Green Hero Award in June 2008, a further accolade for their environmental achievements. More recently, FloodSax® have been officially endorsed by the National Disabled Fire Association (NDFA), the body promoting disability in the Fire & Rescue Services and the wider communities in which they serve. FloodSax® are also being handed out to households in high-risk areas in the North-East under a pilot scheme being run by the Northumberland Fire Service, the Government’s Environment Agency and residential energy efficiency specialist Eaga plc. Richard has always kept a clear vision of what his business hopes to achieve.
